Post Abduction Yellow Coat

Child abduction or child theft is the unauthorized removal of a minor (a child under the age of legal adulthood) from the custody of the child’s natural parents or legally appointed guardians.

According to the US National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, in the USA an estimated 800,000 children are reported missing every year, of which 97% are recovered.

In 1991 reports of a Yellow Coat Man being within the vicinity of child abductions started coming in.

The man’s attire is what makes him noticeable. His black and yellow coat or shawl stands out in a crowd. It’s reported to be well-worn and held together by some sort of metallic coloured thread. The man has been seen wearing a white/grey mask with dark straps holding it to his head. People who have reported seeing him without the mask note that he has a hood over his head.
The Yellow Coat Man has been sighted in towns and cities across western Canada and north west United States. He’s often in location within 24 hours of an abduction report.

It’s unclear if he is responsible for the abductions or the retrieval of the abducted. The abductees never mention him one way or the other.
Law enforcement has an open file for him, but no charges are currently laid.
It should be pointed out that he is not at every reported abduction, and the abductees are not always returned when he is present.

There is no current lead as to his identity.
